The sign in front of the Comfort Inn in Laramie currently says… “Welcome to Laramie. Spring will come one day.”
It snowed here the first two days of May. This was pretty surprising to me – I expected harsher and longer winters here, but not snow in May! In early and mid April, I took some pictures of our backyard filled with snow, because I was amused that we were getting so much snow so late. Little did I know we would be getting more snow almost a month later!! But, as Comfort Inn assures us, Spring will come one day!
On some of the nicer days, we’ve had a big bunny frequenting our front yard, and then discovered a baby bunny living under our porch in the backyard. I dubbed the bigger one BunBun “Mama” McHopkins, (although I have no idea if it’s the mommy, or even female) and the baby, Baby McHopkins. They are dang cute.
Earlier this Spring, Sid and I headed to Lake Hattie to check it out. In the summer, it’s apparently the place to go for watersports and fishing. The day we went was cold and windy, and no one else was there. Here is Sid at Lake Hattie with the Snowy Range in the background. This is about a 25 minute drive from Laramie.
Since we are on the outskirts of town, our neighborhood borders a lot of open prairie with rolling hills. Going up one of the hills from our neighborhood provides a pretty nice view of the entire town, as well as a nice view of our little neighborhood with the Rocky Mountains in the background. Below are some of the views.
